for some reason i am reminded of the support call i got from the secretary who had mapped the keyclick sound on her classic mac to a sample of Graham Chapman, from "The Life of Brian", screaming "Now... FUCK OFF!" and she couldn't get it to change back.

We are under no obligation - morally, ethically, legally, or even economically - to support ad-based businesses as viable business models. No more than we're required to make oil- or tobacco- or gambling-based business models viable.
Supporting creators who have traditionally relied on advertising to get by is another matter entirely.
I'm thinking in giving up on keybase. It's a cool idea, but their new crypto makes me highly doubt their financial stability.
IndieWeb style verification of identity is way more flexible and actually permanent. Downside is that regular users might think its more confusing, guess can't have it both ways.
