turns out a lot of the apps i use on a daily basis require google play services for one reason or another. yay! i'm a fucking monster!
upsides of ios:
easier to get off google
handoff with ipad
better apple music app
cons:
expensive (cheapest new phone is $700)
customization is lackluster
google is still default search for safari
once updates are discontinued, new phone
required to stay mostly in 🍎 ecosystem
upsides of ungoogled android:
still customizable af
keep my own phone
save money
cons:
might need to wave my paid apps goodbye.
will need to install MicroG to get push notifications for most if not all messaging apps.
no idea how to do full backups locally yet.
